Syphillis Studies Tuskegee and Guatemala

Between the period of 1932 to 1972, many African American men in Tuskegee as well as Guatemala were deliberately infected with a venereal disease known as Syphilis.  The men in Tuskegee were the first to get infected.  After a cure was found none of the men received it and with that being sad the amount of time left to live shortened greatly.  Imprisoned men from Guatemala were also often given infected prostitutes as "gifts" so to speak.  With that being said this is truly horrific and nobody should be forced to go through something such as this, especially without that person's consent.  If the men of Tuskegee were informed of the situation and given proper administration of medicine as well as compensation, many laws as well as guidelines wouldn't have been violated.  Honestly I have to say that I'm shocked about this whole situation as a whole and never would've expected something so cruel such as this to take place.  Articles pertaining to the above can be found below as always.
